The Last Bit
This one time, Mike had a birthday...(we'll not mention that is was over a month ago...)
And we were so full from dinner that nobody ate the cake. We just lit it on fire and watched it burn.
And then this last weekend, we went to San Diego (a thinly veiled excuse for Mike to surf before the baby comes and law school starts). And we went to a wedding. And Mike sat by his momma.
And there was good food. And Anne. And Bruce. And Sabrina who took pictures. And Joe. And Karen. And Amy who went to get cheesecake. And Mike.
And Chris and Tish loved one another.
And there was much surfing. MUCH much surfing. And despite Mike's desire for his son to surf in the womb, I did not brave the waves.
Instead, I pretended to read (while really trying to spot Mike riding the waves), and pushed my toes into the sand, and felt the lovely ocean breeze. The other times he surfed, I helped Karen with flowers for the wedding, lusted after the items we found at the farmers market (oh, the juiciness of the Valencia orange...yes please!), went baby shopping and worked.
