Jude Kiss
Two mornings ago, my mom was holding Jude in her lap during breakfast. He had just woken up and his long, blonde hair was shooting up in several different directions and he was clad only in a diaper. Man child. He was lunging for prohibited items on the table and jumping and waving his hands back and forth when he stopped and just starred at my mom for several seconds. He seemed to be studying her face carefully, his eyebrows knit in concentration. Finally, he leaned over and gave her a kiss, right on the smacker. He is a sweet little wild man.

spontaneous kisses are the greatest! He's adorable!
Lovely. I can tell just from your description that he's growing into boy and (slowly) leaving baby.
I've been thinking of your parents' house lately, probably because I'm writing about Katrina and they were my rescuers. Tell them hello and I hope you're just soaking up your summer visit. Sounds like you are.
I love those kind of kisses! I wish they were more abundant, but maybe their rarity makes them so precious. What a sweetie!
What a great story, made greater by your beautiful prose!
