Given the glorious weather, we decided to make a trip to the dollar store for some washable paint for an outdoor art project. I knew it would be messy, I just had no conception of how messy. Of course, Jude is the mayor of mischief. He gets this look in his eye, like the one below when he had decided to smear the paint all over his face, and he knows he's being devious, and there's no stopping him. He revels in it. He looks most like Mike when he is being devious, which makes Mike proud, I think. There is a part of me that resists the mess (and, trust me, it was a huge mess), but I let him go hog wild so infrequently, I just have to squelch the desire to chase him around with a trail of wet wipes.

Oooo, how fun! I am all about filthy children. We have clothes specifically set aside to play outside and get as disgustingly dirty as we want. I have huuuuuge bibs/smocks that the kids can wear while they cook with me (and eat with me!) so they can make as much mess as they like. I do a lot of sweeping and laundry. But it is so worth it! Being filthy dirty is one of the great joys of childhood! Good for you to give Jude such a fun afternoon!
Congratulations on letting go. Looks like fun!
So fun! I need to set aside clothes for play. I'm a lot like you when it comes to messes. I hate having to clean it up so I try to curb it and I think Eli get's jipped because of that.
